I avoided this place, as long as I could. I prefer local, I like my own home for burgers. I make em GOOD. BUT, I weakened and drove through. oh, dear me. THESE. BURGERS. ARE. AMAZING. Now when I'm out driving around, and see the neon sign, i begin to salivate. The double double beckons me, nay, screams my name. The fries are so tiny, thin and Not greasy. And the place so clean and shiny. And the staff so eager to please. Don't wait, go, try, join the clan.

Had never been to an In-N-Out Burger before our recent trip to Salt Lake. Sure, I had heard of it, seen one in movies and such, but I never did make it to one while we were in LA last year. Either way, this was our chance to fix that oversight, so here we went. Place was crowded, but clean. Service was very friendly, food was cheap ($13 for two double-double medium combos), and while we did have to wait a few minutes for them to prepare it, it was worth the wait. The burger itself is great - tons of cheese (can't go wrong there), and it was super juicy and not overcooked. The fries were very interesting. Tasted like they were cooked in sunflower oil, though I can't seem to find proof to confirm that, but they tasted just like a Lay's potato chip, which I know are cooked the same way. Either way, they were really different in flavor, not very crispy, but not soggy either. I was disappointed to not see any Fry Sauce available for dipping, but I suppose that is just a "thing" in Utah, Idaho and the like, so a more "nationwide" chain really shouldn't be expected to offer everything. Ah well... My boyfriend said that if we had one of these back home, he'd be in trouble, as he was absolutely floored by everything, and proceeded to inhale his fries and burger. Overall, both he and I liked this place a heck of a lot more than Crown Burgers, which we had the night before, and since I've seen a lot of comparisons between In-N-Out and Five Guys, I'll throw my weight into that argument too. Five Guys was disappointing and greasy (and the place was LOUD). I went to one, but have no desire to eat there again, while In-N-Out could easily end up in regular rotation if we had one closer. The comparison isn't even fair.

I had never had In-N-Out Burger before coming here, but like many had heard nothing but good things. Being in the SLC area, I saw an In-N-Out from the freeway, and knew I had to stop in for a bite. Simply put: I loved everything about it. The burger was full of flavor, from the pickles, tomatoes, onions, beef and cheese, everything tasted amazing and perfectly cooked. The best part though? The fries. I consider myself a bit of a fry aficionado and LOVED these. They were very crispy and light yet full of flavor. Dipped in ketchup they were even more heavenly. The place seemed newly built and clean, the staff was friendly and our meal probably took maybe 10 minutes to cook. Not bad, but worth a mention. Come here with a good appetite and you won't leave unhappy. Unlike Five Guys (which I previously reviewed), this place is definitely worth the hype. If you're lucky enough to have one nearby, definitely check it out.

Difficult to give a chain burger joint 5 stars, where do you go from there? Is In-and-Out seriously your 5 star restaurant? How do you rate a legitimate 5 star restaurant with incredible service, delicious and artistic food, beautiful setting and ambiance? Seems like stars are given more on an emotional response than an actual honest and critical review of what you are putting in your mouth and the environment in which this sacred act occurs. Just sayin'. That said, I love In-and-Out, every time I go in there, I feel like I'm on a road trip to someplace warm and sunny. Thanks In-and-Out for coming to Utah!

I've never had In-N-out living on the east coast. I would say I had a great experience. Burger, fries (taste exactly like burger king) and a shake and it was under 6 bucks! Plus I don't know if it's because of all the Mormons but everyone was so nice. The burger was a burger, it didn't blow me a away but it was pretty good. Much better than any fast food burger. I won't stay up nights dreaming about this place but if i'm on the west coast again I'll probably stop for one. And now I can finally compare it when people from cali say "well this isn't nearly as good as In-N-Out".

It's a burger. It's a fast food burger. I don't even care. Even having sampled the delights of more expensive burger places all over the valley I keep being drawn back to In-n-out like a moth to a candle. Sure it adds ample inches to my already considerable waistline, but the animal in me still craves my animal style double double and animal fries. For those not familiar with the "In-n-out lingo" Animal style is a double burger with all the trimmings, extra "spread" (The special sauce they put on every burger) and grilled onions. Messy sure, but if it wasn't I think I'd be disappointed. The burgers are fresh, the toppings fresh, the fries fresh(And fresh cut), and everything made to order, with no freezers or heat lamps on premises. It's cheap, delicious, fattening, and utterly heavenly. Hi, my name is Andrew, and I'm an In-n-out addict.

Double double for $3. I use to love the basic burger at In-N-Out, but now I prefer Smashburger with more options.

I really don't get why people love this place so much. I've tried over the past 25 years to understand the fascination, but I just don't get it. It's mediocre at best, just not for me I guess.

It's In-N-Out! Everything on the menu was made personally by God so we know how much he loves us. If you are looking at reviews it means you probably haven't had it before. Shame on you. Eat here and watch your world change... for the better.

Totally overrated. will not wait in long line to buy anything. Very much prefer Smashburger,5 guy's burger & fries,Culver's,Fuddruckers(By far the best burger & bun-Seem to be out of business in Utah-Because of poor location selection). I have had three visits my wife only one. I've been there done it-Too many excellant restaurants out there to go to a fad restaurant. On a positive note-the restaurants and the employee's are very clean. Many people have noted that they have low prices. I question ?????? their comments.

I do not understand why anyone would eat there instead of the Kneaders right next door. The burger selection at in-and-out is minimal. Carl's Jr has much better burgers. Pass on it!

I have enjoyed In-N-Out Burger for a long time growing up in southern California. I have now been in Utah for the last 11 years and within the last year have had In-N-out here in the Salt Lake Valley of Utah. The food is as good as ever and I highly recommend it. About a month ago I was back in south California visiting family and went to In-N-Out there. The service was really slow, here in Utah the service is far above the California stores.

Yum, yum, and yum... that's about all I can say. I love how the menu is so simple (don't go if you don't want a burger). The shakes are (almost) to die for. I can't recommend a favorite (between chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla) because they are ALL good.

So pleased to see In N Out in SLC. Like all others - very clean place - friendly service and their excellent burgers. Go with the double double animal style - thank me later
